30.8 tonnes of crates and granite. None to landfill.

A full building clear-out of crates and granite, with nothing sent to landfill.

The challenge

One building held 120 wooden crates with lids, each around 110 kg, and six granite slabs, four grey and two pink, that could only be moved by forklift. The environmental team wanted all of it gone, without sending any of it to landfill.

What we did

We matched each material to a local reuse partner before pickup, then scheduled the removal around Magellan's forklift availability, using a 26-foot truck across several trips. Every item was logged by quantity, weight and destination.

The outcome

Everything was reused locally. Magellan received a certificate of diversion for its environmental reporting, and set up a standing monthly crate pickup with JunkCycle from August 2026 to July 2027.
